Joint INBIONET/Infect-ERA Conference success

September 30, 2016

The final meeting of the INBIONET network was celebrated by a joint conference, along with Infect-ERA, at Queen's University Belfast over 14-15th September 2016. Delegates from 14 European countries gathered to discuss the latest findings from the INBIONET Programme and the first and second call of Infect-ERA.

The event proved a huge success as experienced and early stage researchers contributed to discussions on some of the most deadly infectious diseases. We were delighted to welcome our keynote speakers; Professor Erzsébet Nagy, Editor of the “anaerobe” journal and Professor Paul Moynagh of QUB and The National University of Ireland Maynooth.

Many young researches found the opportunity to network with world acclaimed scientists very valuable in terms of career development. In addition to the many scientific discussions which took place of this 2 day event, conference delegates also had the opportunity to sample some of the local hospitality and in particular embraced the traditional Irish Céilí which entertained all during the gala dinner which took place in The Great Hall at Queen’s University Belfast.
